Salary: £40,000.00 – £45,000 per year

This full-time role combines remote and client-based working.

Our Business Units include Early Years, Health & Social Care and our Business Portfolio.  This role is within the Business Portfolio team from within which we deliver Project Management, Leadership & Management, Business Improvement and Data Analyst Apprenticeships.

Role Purpose

 

The role of a Senior Trainer & Coach is at the coal face our business.  The training aspects of the role require inspirational delivery of Data Analyst course materials. Our trainers are ‘out in the field’ working with our learners & employers, responsible for supporting a caseload of Apprentices (of any age) who are learning in their places of work.

Qualifications will include accredited Apprenticeships and short courses. You will be using a variety of teaching and assessing techniques to ensure that the highest standards of bespoke learning is offered.

 

In the Portfolio Coach/Mentor element of the role you will provide the backbone in quality delivery for our business.  Working closely with our learners, employers and trainers, you will be responsible for supporting them to evidence their learning and enabling them to cross the finish line in a timely manner.

 

You will be using a variety of reviewing tools and learning support such that outstanding coaching is provided for every learner. Through the work you do as trainer and coach, you will not only be making a difference in the lives of learners, but also increasing standards and reputation of the Industry.

 

The ‘Senior’ element of the role involves supporting curriculum development and business development activity when required.

The role of Trainer/ Coach will be allocated in balanced proportions dependent on your skill set and the needs of the business. You will be required to manage your own workload to achieve the appropriate output of successful portfolio coaching in conjunction with preparing for and delivering your training commitments.

 

The principle duties required to deliver both aspects of this role will include the elements below. This list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to undertake any reasonable activity suited to your qualifications and experience.

 

Training Specific

 

  • Delivering outstanding teaching and learning of knowledge in Data Analyst
  • Mentoring learners with varying barriers to learning
  • Ensuring timely progression of learners through their qualifications with the delivery of masterclass workshops, webinars, observation, professional discussion and other methods.
  • Working with Functional Skills Specialists to facilitate learning towards functional skill components
  • Assisting with enrolling learners onto Apprenticeships and other qualifications

 

Coaching Specific

 

  • Supporting training to ensure Apprentices’ work is regularly uploaded
  • Reviewing portfolio work and complete feedback in accordance with established PQA practice
  • Holding regular 1-2-1 reviews with Apprentices (and line managers) for the purpose of giving specific portfolio advice and guidance
  • Working collaboratively with trainers to fulfil client reporting requirements
  • Collecting, annotating and promulgating Exemplar work
  • Participating/ Observing EPAs as the trainer representative
  • Assist with EPA preparations through 1-2-1 meetings, including line manager briefings

General

 

  • Completing and maintaining all regulatory and financial paperwork
  • Engaging employers in the learning programmes
  • Administration of e-portfolio to identify any potential compliance issues
  • Attending and contributing to Teaching and Learning standardisation meetings where appropriate
  • Liaising regularly with your line manager and quality assurance team
  • Taking part in continuous professional development, including completion of own qualifications
  • Assisting to promote the organisation and its qualification offering to employers and learners
  • Offering information, advice and guidance and identifying learner needs
  • Supporting curriculum development and business development activity when required

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within specialist vocational sector
  • Experience working to a supervisory or managerial level
  • Excellent practical and theoretical knowledge of vocational specialism
  • Industry specific qualifications
  • Assessing and/or teaching qualifications (desirable)
  • Possess or working to a minimum of level 2 standard in Maths, ICT and English
  • Good IT skills – working level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other MIS and databases

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • English, Maths and ICT – Level 2 minimum
  • Project Management Industry experience and qualifications
  • Supervisory / training experience and qualifications
  • Satisfactory employment references
  • Acceptable Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
