Through extensive experience, the ELA Education team has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by leaders in Early Years and schools settings.

 

We also understand how to engage stakeholders from diverse cultural and socio-economic communities, and offer short courses, a range of apprenticeships, and support solutions to support education provisions on their journey of continuous improvement.

Meet Our Team

Ali Khan

ALI KHAN

More than 20 years’ experience in the leadership of Adult Learning and Apprenticeships. He is a qualified PRINCE2® and APM Project Manager, but most of all is passionate about people and making a difference. Ali is the founding director of ELA Training Services.

Liz Finlayson

Liz heads up our Childcare, Early Years and Schools Apprenticeship programmes across London and the South East. Liz oversees delivery, quality assurance, curriculum development and business development. Liz holds a Lead IQA Award, PTTLS Qualification, A1 Assessors Award and an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.

Fuz Zaidi

Fuz Zaidi

A Business Management graduate with more than 10 years’ experience working in the FE sector. Fuz has worked in a variety of management roles under MIS and Compliance for Independent Training Providers and Employer Providers. Fuz leads our MIS, Administration, and Compliance division, with a key focus on data integrity and improving efficiency across the division.

Bo Ibrahim

Bo has 20+ years of sales and marketing experience (including sales support, desk-based sales, field sales, and sales management) within large corporate and growing SMEs. He has a proven track record in exceeding personal targets as well as developing teams. Bo is passionate about empowering individuals and organizations with knowledge, qualifications, and career skill to help them achieve success.

Cathyren Buttlers

Cathryn Butler

Cathryn is our Head of Learning Operations, having successfully built and led our Health & Social Care division. Cathryn supports the Apprenticeship Team Leaders and Functional Skill team across all provisions to ensure the highest possible levels of customer service, operational efficiency and progress in learning.

Jen Denny

Jen is our People and Culture Manager, and brings a wealth of skills and high-level experience in both the private and public sector across the UK and internationally.
Jen has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and an MSc in International Training and HRM, CIPD) She is also a member of the British Psychological Society(BPS) and is a passionate Executive Coach (ILM L7).
Jen has established and developed ELA’s HR function, working to embed effective HR practices, procedures, and policies, playing a key role in supporting the evolution of the business culture.

Amy

Amy Hallam

Amy heads up our team of Functional Skills specialists and has been teaching English and Maths at different levels for nearly 20 years in various settings. Amy also has vast experience in leading Quality Assurance and holds a Certification in Education, a Level 7 in Teaching People with Specific Learning Difficulties, and a Level 5 in Teaching English.  She is passionate about giving people a positive learning experience, and that they are provided with the support they need.

Sandra Chatwood

Sandra is our Quality Manager at ELA and has been working within the Adult Education & Skills sector for over 20 years. Sandra is a Qualified Assessor and Quality Assurer holding a Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification, Certificate in Education, Qualified Teaching Status, as well as her Advanced Teaching Status. Sandra is a Fellow Member of the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) and is recorded on the Professional Status Register as well as the Chartered Teacher Directory. She is very passionate about learners’ success and the quality of provision they receive.

Kristian

Kristian Neziri

Kristian is a First-Class Business graduate from Middlesex University London. He is a highly driven and performance-focused professional who has a great desire to grow and gain new skills. Kristian has been managing and delivering day-to-day HR Administration services across ELA, and has managed records, devised new procedures, and excelled with new systems.

Mohsin

Mohsin Ul-Haque

Mohsin is our senior accountant possessing a unique portfolio of professional experience in areas of Accounts, Finance, Reporting, Taxation, Internal and External Audit. Mohsin joined ELA last year and has 9 years’ experience of commercial finance roles.

Ali

Ali Muqadas

Ali Muqadas is our Finance & Data Manager at ELA, with over 10 years of experience in Finance, Auditing, and Accounting. Ali can do things with spreadsheets and dashboards that we never thought possible, and has been instrumental in developing our use of data for planning, decision making and performance management.

Wendy

Wendy Johnson

Wendy is a member of our Functional Skills team. In addition to having delivered Maths & English, Wendy has also delivered employability, digital skills, and mentoring to help people back into work. Wendy enjoys supporting learners to gain confidence within subjects to help them believe in their ability to succeed.

Wendy is a full supporter of further education and training at any age, having herself graduated from University with a Law Degree at the age of 39, and continued to gain her teaching, assessment and internal quality assurance qualifications.

Sonia Girling

Sonia has over 7 years’ experience as a Qualified Teacher and also works in our Functional Skills Team. Working throughout different key stages in schools, colleges, and remote settings, she has been delivering both GCSE and Functional Skills Qualifications to a wide variety of learners. She holds a BA in English & Drama, a Postgraduate Teaching Degree, and a Master’s in Education Practice

Jhoy

JHOY ABASTILLAS

Jhoy has more than 5 years of experience in the training industry within the administration department, and is currently the team administrator for ELA’s Business Portfolio Division. She assists trainers on end-to-end processes and is always ready to lend a hand to other stakeholders in the company.

Joanna

JOANNA MIZERA

Joanna Mizera is a graduate in Business Administration with more than 5 years’ experience in work-based learning with a large National Provider before she joined ELA. Accurate and timely completion of compliance requirements is a top business priority that Jo helps us achieve.

Fahima

Fahima Karbhari

Fahima has been working in the Adult Education & Skills sector for several years. She has a passion for motivating and ameliorating her learners in order to achieve their lifelong ambitions. Fahima is a member of our Functional Skills team and has extensive experience in teaching a range of courses to help improve each individual’s employability skills. Fahima possesses a qualified teaching status and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education alongside a Degree in Chemistry.

Uzma Ali Khan

Uzma Khan Ali works in the Admin and Compliance Team, having worked with ELA for 5 years Uzma has greatly enjoyed being a part of the growth of the company from its humble beginnings. Uzma has completed her Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship whilst working with ELA and plays a key role in supporting the administration of examinations.

Anita Gomez

Anita has more than 20 years experience of working in the lifelong learning sector as a qualified trainer, assessor and coach. Anita is passionate about helping people; and after a varied career has found her calling, supporting those with barriers to learning with their Functional Skills qualifications. As Anita has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, she specialises in supporting Maths and ICT qualifications.

DEBORAH READER

An assessor on the Early Years team, Debora has worked in Early Years sector for over 20 years, being qualified up to level 5. She has also worked for 10 years in the NHS, specifically in change management and service management. Deborah has been assessing for approx. 2.5 years, and is training to be an IQA.

ELANA MAJOR

Elana has over 20 years  experience in the Early Years industry with an Early Years degree. A qualified assessor to deliver the Early Years Educator and Early Years Practitioner qualifications. She is passionate about her career within the training industry to support and develop learners achieve their ultimate goals.

AMY LEEDS

Amy Leeds has been assessing level 2 and 3 Early Years qualifications since 2016. Before this, she was an Early Years Practitioner/Montessori for almost 20 years. She worked in pre-schools and day nurseries during this time, and so has a wide range of experience in the Early Years sector.

Ann buttivant

Ann has been working in the field of Nursery Education and Early Years for more than 25 years as a Teaching Assistant, Nursery Manager, Trainer and Assessor. Ann holds L3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, L3 Award in Education and Training, a Level 4 IQA Award, and is a key part of our Internal Quality Assurance team.

Annabel

Annabel Gurdikyan

Annabel originally trained as a Montessori teacher and achieved a first-Class Honours Degree in Early Years and Education. This is where Annabel developed her thirst for knowledge and continued her journey by completing a Master of Arts in Education, specialising in ‘inclusive practice’ with a special interest in autism spectrum disorder. After several years in Leadership within the early years sector Annabel joined ELA as an Early Years Assessor and works with Early Years practitioners working towards their apprenticeships at all levels. Her favourite quote is ‘it will be necessary to look to children for help if the world is to be made better’ (Montessori, 2012,1).

Sheila Kemp

Sheila has more than 20 year’s experience as a Childcare Trainer, Assessor and also QA analyst, while having also managed a Nursery Setting for 5 years.  Sheila’s experience spans nursery schools, after-school clubs and holiday clubs. Sheila also works with youth centres on a voluntary basis, planning activities and trips for children and young adults.

Mandy Ladher

Charlotte started her career within Health & Social Care in 2009. During this time, she was presented with an award for ‘Front Line Leader’ at the “Great British Care Awards”. After many years working within the management team of a national care franchise,

Jasmine Junco

Having already worked for several years in the training sector, Jasmine is a highly efficient and effective administration coordinator, who quickly adapts to a variety of systems and platforms. She offers excellent levels of customer service to all internal and external stakeholders. Jasmine also has a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management.

Leann Kurland

Throughout her career, Leann has learned to value the importance of high-quality teaching. She developed a career as an assessor from her experience at Legoland and my Early Year’s degree. She enjoyed this immensely and learnt a great deal from her Internal verifier, which then helped spark her interest in internal verification and enabled her to complete V1, EPA and PTTLS qualifications.

Kelly

Kelly Corbett

Kelly Corbett has been delivering and assessing Early Years qualifications at levels 2, 3 and 5 since 2008. Kelly previously worked in early years as a childcare practitioner in day nurseries and started her early years career as an apprentice herself. She has also worked as a Training and Quality Manager in the early years, supporting apprentices. Kelly holds a Foundation Degree in Early Years, an Internal Quality Assurance Award, Level 3 PTTLS Certificate, and an A1 Award in Assessing Vocational Qualifications.

Karen Biddulph

KAREN BIDDULPH

Karen has been working in childcare since 1987. She has previously been a childcare manager of a multi-cultural centre; running pre-school, messy play, parents and tots, youth clubs and breakfast club on-site and off-site after-school clubs, and holiday playschemes for 4 to 13 year olds. She’s been a training officer- assessor since 2006.

JASNA BEGUM

From the age of 16 years, Jasna has been working in Early Years. She started off as an apprentice, herself, in a private nursery and, over the years, worked her way up the ladder to nursery manager. She has been part of the Early Years industry for over 15 years now. Jasna has got level 2 and 3 qualifications in Early Years, and holds a level 3 award in education and training.
