We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate trainer/assessor to join our new and exciting Commercial Training Department delivering standalone diplomas and short courses via blended leaning solutions – we pride ourselves on supporting all our learners 1-1.

Our commercial offer consists of Early Years, Health and Social Care and Children, Young People and Families Practitioner diplomas and mandatory training,

The ideal candidate will be able to deliver in at least 2 or more of the above sectors.

Working collaboratively with all stakeholders you will strive to ensure that learners reach their full potential by supporting and assessing adult learners to complete relevant qualifications at Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The role of the Tutor is a varied role of developing the resources as well as delivering workshops and 1-2-1 tutorials with learners via video-conferencing software, marking assignments and providing individual feedback as well as reviewing and reporting progress for employer engagement where required.

You be using a variety of teaching and assessment techniques to ensure that the highest standards of bespoke learning is offered. Through the work you do, you will not only be making a difference in the lives of learners, but also increasing standards and reputation of the industry and ELA.

The role is home-based, supporting learners and delivering teaching virtually. However subject to demand there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be required to travel to workplaces to perform assessments from time to time.

 

 

Typical deliverables

This list is not exhaustive, and you are expected to undertake any reasonable activity suited to your qualifications and experience.

  • Ensuring effective and engaging onboarding of new learners to their first day in learning.
  • Supporting learners through a blended delivery model of group workshops, 1-2-1 tutorials and work-based assessments.
  • Delivering monthly workshops to all cohorts of learners and scheduling additional ‘mop-up’ sessions for those that may have missed them.
  • Completing online tutorials every 4-6 weeks depending on the qualification and the needs of the learner to ensure learners stay on top of assignments and act on feedback.
  • Adapting teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Taking part in continuous professional development, including completion of own qualifications
  • Liaising regularly with learners, employers, your line manager and quality assurance team as necessary
  • Creating any required resources and participating in the building of the curriculum in line with awarding body requirements

Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-year experience within specialist vocational sector
  • Experience working to a supervisory or managerial level.
  • Excellent practical and theoretical knowledge of vocational specialism
  • Industry specific qualifications, including Health & Social Care Level 3 Diploma (Level 5 desirable, Level 3 essential)
  • Assessing and/or teaching qualifications AET or PTTLs & Qualification for the Assessment of Vocational Qualifications
  • Possess or working to a minimum of level 2 standard in Maths, ICT and English
  • Good IT skills – working level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other MIS and databases such as OneFile and Smart Assessor

Minimum requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the UK and a confident traveller
  • Relevant Sector Industry experience and qualifications Level 3 (or above), AET or PTTLs & Qualification for the Assessment of Vocational Qualifications
  • Supervisory / training experience and qualifications
  • Satisfactory employment references
  • Acceptable Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • English, Maths, and ICT – Level 2 minimum
